Background & Training
Felicity Wurlod’s lifelong connection to animals began on her family’s dairy farm in Victoria, Australia, where she cared for everything from pet dogs to horses, working cattle dogs, dairy cows, and poultry. This early exposure to animal husbandry inspired her to pursue a Bachelor of Animal Science at La Trobe University in Melbourne.
To gain diverse international experience, Felicity worked on a farm in Switzerland for six months before relocating to Ireland, where she completed a Research Master’s in Agricultural Science at University College Dublin (UCD). She then spent four years as an immunology research assistant at Trinity College Dublin, a role she found intellectually rewarding but ultimately not aligned with her true passion: improving the lives of animals through hands-on care.
Felicity’s desire to work directly with animals in a non-invasive, science-backed capacity led her to therapeutic massage. She became a certified Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner through the Canine Massage Therapy Centre in the UK, studying under Natalie Lenton, and later earned a Certificate in Equine Sports Massage with Jessica Blackwell at Equestricare in Western Australia. She has also added a Certificate in Photonic Therapy from Ros Maindock of Equestricare to her qualifications, and attended a workshop with Jim Masterson, the renowned founder of the Masterson Method. More recently she completed an introductory course in Canine Craniosacral Therapy with Rebeccah Baylis of IAAT, a professional organisation of which Felicity herself is a member.
Felicity actively pursues ongoing professional development each year to meet the rigorous standards of her IAAT membership.
As a fully qualified Canine and Equine Massage Therapist and Photonic Therapist, Felicity now runs Wurlod Animal Therapies, offering specialised therapeutic services throughout County Dublin and the surrounding areas.
